R+D | The Foundry
After the unfortunate event of cancelling their large weekend getaway wedding in the Hudson Valley due to COVID-19, Rachel and David were determined to find a way to get married in 2020 safely, locally and in-style with a reduced guest list of their closest family members and friends. The couple chose to move their wedding to The Foundry, Long Island City's iconic 19th century industrial foundry turned wedding venue. They fell in love with the unique setting and the ability to hold the entire event outdoors under an open-air tent insured extra safety for their guests. Guests arrived through the Courtyard gate and were greeted with champagne and gift bags filled with personalized hand sanitizers and fans, fabric masks, and bug repellant wipes.
After the ceremony, waitstaff served signature drinks and invited guests to their seats for where they enjoyed a four-course meal. After cake, everyone was invited to join in socially distanced, masked dancing under the stars. The evening was a perfect "breath of fresh air;" A celebration of love, family and togetherness.
